Workshops are taught by Steven White, an Emmy-nominated writer/producer (black-ish, grown-ish, Workaholics) who also has improv experience at the world-renowned The Second City. He recently taught an after school Improv class at Tesago for their Discovery program.
DROP-IN WORKSHOP:
We're excited to offer a Drop-In Improv Class for students who would like to give improv a try! This special session is perfect for beginners or anyone who wants to get their feet wet and explore their improvisation skills in a fun, low-pressure environment.
Students will participate in engaging games, creative activities, and spontaneous scenes in a small-group setting filled with lots of laughs, creativity, and fun. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from Steven White, an Emmy-nominated writer and producer, while building confidence, communication, teamwork, and quick-thinking skills.
Limited to just 9 students, this unique experience is open to students in Grades 4–8. No experience necessary—just bring your imagination and get ready to laugh!
OPEN WORKSHOP:
Open to all students, experienced or new. Students will cover a basic concept of improv essentials, character establishing, and body movement before tackling a series of games and concepts meant to help build confidence, improve public speaking and practicing quick thinking.
All a child needs to attend this class is an open mind! For children entering grades 4-8.
INTERMEDIATE WORKSHOP: This workshop is invite only. Mr. White will be reaching out to select students with participation details. f you are a new student with prior experience and would like to be considered, please email us before signing up online.
In this intermediate intensive, students will refresh their improv skills from previous sessions before diving into new games and concepts based on displaying character traits, making strong choices, and dramatic offerings.
